Musical Mondays 17.11 Edition

So work is in full gear again. We have to close the deal that is being renegotiated at my current client and even though I will leave it I am supporting the account planning activities. This comes with a whole new set of responsibilities but is a great learning opportunity and something new besides my usual work.

I also am really starting to wonder about what is coming next. Sometime in December I will finish here and then it's back to to the drawing board. Some early speculation has involved Pittsburgh or Malaysia as possible options. In the meantime, I am hoping not to be traveling the world and am conducting an apartment search in Munich but what a roller coaster of emotions that brings! I am completely split between just moving back to Munich regardless what my future project location is or spending time in Zürich until either (a) I know where I move to next and can decide what makes sense, (b) the girl who's place I am crashing at decides to get rid of it since she is never here or (c) the Swiss authorities come knocking because I am an illegal alien.

I realized today that my 35th birthday is 3 weeks from tomorrow and I have absolutely nothing planned to celebrate it. That's kind of sad.

So with that, I leave you with Monday's song. Yes this is out of season but I love this one for a perfect spring day with a convertible, riding around the Bavarian countryside. Vrooom vroooooom! (At this point I am realizing that my musical taste is questionable. Then again, I guess I always knew that.)

I imagine not knowing mist be really difficult. But I have no doubt, you'll figure it out soon enough!

Have you tried using Mr. Lodge for your apartment search? It offers furnished apartments for rental in Munich for both short and long term contracts (in case you don't want to tie yourself into a one-year contract in an unfurnished place).

http://www.mrlodge.de/englisch/e_home.htm

I haven't used it myself other than to browse when I was first moving to town, but there were definitely some nice places on there.

It looks one there's a complaint on Toytown regarding getting someone getting his security deposit back, so you may want to read through that. (This can be a problem with any apartment, of course.) There may be other feedback on TT as well.

Despite the fact that I only understand half the words in your posts any more I still think you rock.

You "only" have 3 weeks to plan your birthday? Come on - I don't even by Christmas stuff til the night before. I'm sure you have plenty of time to figure something out!!!

Stay positive....

Worse comes to worse I'll help you plan it ;-)

I've been following your blog close to two years now and although I have no solutions (particularly as far as munich is concerned) should you decide to pitch it all (even for a weekend) and head out to a significantly less happening part of Germany, email me. Hang in there!
