Liechtenstein

Today I met up with and went hiking with 6 perfect strangers. Faced with another day alone in the apartment or getting out and doing something, I chose the latter.

It was a good choice! A bunch of characters with a lot of good stories and a beautiful day for an autumn hike. It was a relatively short one - 3.5 hours - but some nice views, some cute cows and at the end a nice beer and an apfelstrüdel.

I reached Liechtenstein by train, then bus, from Zurich and spotted the group introducing themselves to each other. Two Germans, two British, a Singaporean, a Danish - and me, an American.

The man who organized the trip works as a cult investigator for the Catholic church - that sparked quite some conversation. We were all laughing like crazy when he told his that when his group went to visit the scientologist celebrity center in LA, they were labeled as SPT's (Sources of Potential Trouble) on their badges.

There's not too much to say about Liechtenstein. It looks and feels like a small Swiss town. There was a big group of Japanese there who all wanted their passport stamped with Liechtenstein. Some sort of passport bingo.

The weather should be perfect again tomorrow and I am tempted to try another hike - but it's a much tougher one. Two of the group today were planning to go again tomorrow and were hoping I would join. Very, very tempting...
Then again, so is a lazy Sunday sunning at Zürich sidewalk cafe with a newspaper and coffee. Hmm....

Your photos are beautiful.
My husband and I haven't been able to get to the Zurich area since moving to Switzerland. It is one of our next places that we want to visit.

Thanks Pumpkin! Where are you living in Switzerland? All of the country I have seen so far is beautiful...but I have been really only in the German speaking areas.

beautiful! i say go hiking. primarily because i'd like to hear more stories about what a cult investigator does.

I am living in the Jura near Le Noirmont. It is beautiful here but I do miss bigger cities.
