Our First Project

I had mentioned wanting to start some home improvement projects and a couple of weekends ago I pushed and prodded and convinced M. that it was time to get started. It's not that he's against it but we both have a tendency to philosophize and debate rather than do. So last fall, this spring and summer and this fall again almost passed without us making the garden we talked about.

We didn't make the whole plan we had envisioned by any stretch but we broke ground figuratively and literally and made the first part of our garden. It was a balmy fall day, the sun was shining and the leaves were nearly at peak. We raked and mowed and trimmed the bushes and made a new flower bed. We stuffed it with about 200 bulbs (narcissus, tulips, crocus, lily of the valley, and grape hyacinths).

Our arms ached and we were covered in dirt and sweat but finally, after so many years, I have a garden again.

Yes I can't wait for spring to see it!!

yeah it's hard to believe it's almost been an entire year since you moved!!

While you are swamped with work, I'm wishing I could have a normal job back again and be that busy... Well maybe a little less.
