Not only am I also wondering what kind of camera you have, but also whether or not you used a tripod for the evening pictures? I can't take a nice nighttime picture to save my life, and your pictures are fantastic.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. My camera is the Canon EOS 30D - I upgraded in January to this discontinued model. They have since replaced it with the latest version - the EOS 40D.

The lens is the Canon EFS 17-85mm with Image Stabilizer. I borrowed a mini tripod for the shots as there is no chance on night photography otherwise.

There were about 5 good shots and 70 bad ones from that evening - I am still very much a beginner with this camera (or any for that matter). What was nice was finally having the time to stretch out on the beach and play with all the manual camera settings under the moon and with the waves and birds singing nearby.

gorgous as always

Almost as gorgous as 11-2 Sox over Yankees heading into the bottom of the 9th after beating them 7-3 the night before putting the sox in the position to sweep the last series at Yankee stadium.

Hope you're well. Drop me a line sometime eh?

So where have you gone? It has almost been a month since you last posted. The pics are great but you seem bored with it all. Life is like that, you think you have it all figured out and then it all changes.
