Note to M: the Mass Turnpike is NOT the autobahn.
So what am I most looking forward to?
10. Air Conditioning: I want to feel the frostiness of summer in America. Conservation and energy awareness is nice. In theory. Adding to the general discomfort of the HOT weather here is a nice rash all over my neck. A nice, itchy rash. Arrghhhhh! Freeze me!
9. Automated Ice Cube Maker
We have a theme here. I bought ice cube trays so we can make ice now. But in Germany they are puny little trays that make puny little ice cubes. I want a monster ice dispenser that pours out huge cubes from the fridge at rates Europeans couldn't even fathom.
8. Hammock
Dangerously comfortable. Need I say more?
7. Steak
We have had an outstanding grill season so far and M. has really become a grill master. The only drawback is the beef here leaves something to be desired. I want a nice big juicy USDA prime steak. Medium rare, please.
6. Corn
There is something sad about the corn here too. I want some farmstand corn, picked that day and sweeter than sugar. Preferably Silver Queen corn.
5. Tulum
Shrimp cocktail, shrimp tacos. Yes, I know, I sound like Bubba gump. Fajitas and Margaritas. With a porch like this and a hot tub under the stars, life doesn't get much better.
4. Snorkeling
"It's like a fish tank!"
3. The Red Sox
I have been woefully negligent of my Sox this summer. Nevertheless, I can't wait to get back to see a game at Fenway. Let's go Red Sox! Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap!
2. Seeing My Family
Almost the best reason to come back (see #1).

That does sound incredible. But be aware, there is at least one GREAT mexican food restaurant in Switz that could give you possibly shrimp and fajitas and margaritas. Brunnen in canton Schywz is the place...

Awesome - only two more days! I've been enjoying many of the fine things on your list in the past week and am looking forward to more.
Under normal circumstances I'd be extremely jealous about getting to go to Tulum and enjoy the beach, but in this case I can't get beyond staring in envy at the pictures of the ice maker and A/C...
